With the arrival of the railway in 1841, the first tourists are dumped on the shores of the country of Buch. The pay pinasse trip becomes a real activity for sailors. Tourists are walked around La Teste-de-Buch to Arcachon, and then along the beaches and oyster beds. "Boatmen" competition was felt from the 1950s and walks are often modern boats. Nowadays some pinnaces are available for hire for the day or half a day.
The small pinnaces will become pleasure craft during the twentieth century. These pinnaces are equipped with modern comforts and represent most of the pinnaces we encounter nowadays on the ports of the bassin d'Arcachon. Although often in composite materials, modern pinnaces are less built pine wood, but they nevertheless retain their characteristic silhouette.
